The Shiny Vine exists to celebrate and educate on the BEST of English wines from the North to South of our country, whilst giving you an opportunity to bask in seasonal beauty and share exceptional experiences. It’s not just about us and our wines, its going to be about us ALL! The Shiny Vine will be here to shine a light and give a voice to the BEST winemakers, grape growers and family run vineyards from the tip to the toe of England…
With vineyards planted across 9 acres of land that has been farmed for centuries, The Shiny Vine specialises in being different, honouring differences and supporting inclusivity and diversity. This forward thinking approach shimmers across the Estate, and is also reflected in the choice of grape varieties grown in the vineyard; one of which The Shiny Vine was the first to plant in England, with high hopes and aspirations.

One Story
Our Vineyards
It all began with an idea, born out of struggle and nurtured with passion. A dream made a reality, on 150 acres of land that has been farmed for centuries growing everything from nourishing maize to juicy sweet apples and plums, The Shiny Vine’s boutique educational vineyards were planted in May 2021 over 9 acres of land that has been cultivated and nurtured for centuries, and family owned by two generations, nestled on the charming Leicester Grange Estate straddling the borders of Warwickshire and Leicestershire, England.
Planted with ten different varieties, whilst the vineyard includes some of the classic “Champagne” varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, The Shiny Vine team chose to explore grape varieties known to suit our cool, marginal climate, with disease resistant qualities known as “Piwis” such as ‘Cabernet Blanc’ and ‘Divico’. The Shiny Vine was also excited to be the first vineyard in England to plant the ‘Rinot’ variety which from early tastings has found to create some fantastic, full flavoured wines synonymous with Riesling- with plans to expand on these exciting ‘lower intervention’ grape varieties in the near future.
Using disease resistant grape varieties that are capable of producing fantastic, delicious wines, means ‘less intervention’, ‘less chemicals’, ‘less tractor use’, lowering our carbon footprint, and more ‘love, care and attention’ to our soils and the land we are custodians over.
The number of varieties in the vineyard help us to share with people, what’s behind the wine they’re sipping from all over England which are not just celebrated for their traditional method sparkling, but their diverse still wines too.
The Shiny Vine logo carries the imagery of a gnarly, knot riddled vine that has risen up, survived and produces fantastic fruit with the potential to make fantastic, exciting and captivating wines. As is often said by viticulturalists, the vine that has struggled for its water and nutrients, produces the best fruit. Similarly, having grown by overcoming its environment and a neglected Estate (its triangle), overcoming challenges, and surviving, reaching out from it all (into a wider circle), The Shiny Vine now wishes to give back, shine, & pay it forwards (whilst staying grounded in its gnarly roots).

Established in the Grange’s Coach House, our English Wine specialist Shop strives to support all that is great in English wine making, including local artisan produce, and that produced by The Shiny Vine. Offering English Wines produced by some of the greats, and those lesser known, fantastic, family owned English producers seeking to be heard, supported & enjoyed.
The Shiny Vine shop space is set in ‘beauty, shine and sparkle’ seeking to merge the ‘old school’ with the ‘new school’ with a desire to promote diversity, flare and inclusivity at its core, whilst ensuring you have been imparted with the knowledge to find your perfect English pour.
Whether you’re taking a tour with our dynamic, English wines expert team amongst the vines, or enjoying an exploration of English wine tasting in our intimate tasting room, or via our music, food and wine pop up events, we have you covered.
