17/04 - The Shiny Vine Tastings: A Clash of The Clones

Clash of the Grape Clones
Same grape. Different countries. One tasting.
Explore how clone selection shapes aroma, texture, and flavour—side by side in a friendly showdown of terroir and technique. See how a Pinot Gris from England compares to a Pinot Grigio from Italy for example, or how a Chardonnay from Chablis stands up against a Chardonnay from English soils.

Whether you’re a seasoned sommelier or a curious wine lover, this guided tasting promises a sensory journey through the vineyards of England and the world - one delicious sip at a time.

Wine tasting is strictly 18+ and we reserve the right to request photographic identification in accordance with our Challenge 25 policy. No dogs or pets allowed other than assistance pets with prior approval.

What to expect:

We will guide you through 6 x 50ml pours of our stunning selection of carefully sourced wines, comparing three pairs of amazing grapes from two parts of the world, one being England.

We will open our English Wine Specialist shop at the end of the tasting for anyone wishing to purchase English wines enjoyed on the evening.

Please contact us directly for bookings of more than 6 people, or private groups.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Plan Ahead: There is plenty of free parking onsite immediately outside the shop doors.

Food Allergens: There will be a selection of local produce nibbles provided at all our events, please let us know of any dietary restrictions in plenty of time before the event.

Taxis & transport: If you need to organise transportation to and from our Estate, please pre-book your taxis. You need to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the event, and especially if an evening event, with pick-up up to 10 minutes after, as there are limited waiting areas on our farm in the evening (day tour lengths can vary). Please note with evening events, there is an opportunity to purchase after the event up to 30 minutes after the scheduled finish time so please factor this in to your pick-up plans.

Accessibility & Tours: We are a working farm and access to the vineyard for tours is via a 10 minute walk on an uneven and sloped woodland path through our Estate mature trees and nature. This may be difficult for those with walking difficulties. The vineyard also has uneven surfaces so please ensure you wear appropriate footwear!

Whilst our shop and tasting rooms are all on one level, please note that our old Coach House building that we are situated in, does have steps between rooms, and the car park, courtyard area contains a slightly uneven surface.

Children & Dogs: Wine tasting events & tours are strictly 18+ and we operate a Challenge 25 policy so please ensure you bring photographic ID. No alcohol will be sold or served to any person under the age of 18 or any person over the age of 18 who cannot provided ID when asked.

We love dogs but to keep them safe on our grape farm, no dogs or pets are allowed other than assistance pets with prior approval.

Health & Safety: Attendees must follow the guidance provided by the tasting host, including observing the restricted areas of the estate. Kindly note that the Leicester Grange estate is a private residence, and we need to respect our neighbour’s privacy, therefore please no wandering outside of the areas your host advises on. We operate CCTV in all areas of the estate including the shop and tasting room. All attendees are responsible for their own safety and safety of their own goods.

Cancellations & Refunds: We have made plans for you to attend our family vineyard on receipt of your order. This therefore makes cancellation difficult and whilst every effort can be made to accommodate change, if you have booked a tour and/or or wine tasting event and you wish to cancel or re-arrange your session then please contact us more than twenty eight (28) days prior to your event date and we will offer to re-arrange your session or offer a refund for the ticket price. If you notify us within twenty eight (28) days prior to your event date then we will try to accommodate your request. However, this will be subject to the availability of alternative dates and we may deduct from or refuse your refund. If you have booked a ticket for a tour or wine tasting event and you do not arrive for your scheduled booking, then the tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. Any request for a refund or transfer must be made in writing, directed to hello@theshinyvine.com. If we cancel your booking in its entirety, you will be entitled to a full refund for the purchase price. Tickets will be exchanged or refunded at the price paid for them, but no further compensation will be paid.

Our Cancellation Rights: We reserve the right to cancel any event for any reason by informing you in writing. If your event is cancelled we will contact you to let you know and will refund any money you have paid us in respect of the event.
